Virtual Calming Room

Virtual Calming Room

Welcome District 15 families.  We are so glad you stopped by.

We hope you enjoy your visit to the Virtual Calming Room and that this will become a place that you come back to time and again.

Sometimes, things happen in life that leave us feeling some pretty BIG feelings - overwhelmed, sad, confused, angry and even anxious.  These feelings are normal, but when they get too big or last too long, they can make it difficult to concentrate, complete tasks, or even enjoy time with our friends and family.  It is important, especially during times of stress, that we take care of ourselves.  That means, in addition to eating healthy, exercising and getting enough sleep, we use tools that help us calm our bodies and quiet our thoughts when we are experiencing uncomfortable emotions.

The MSD#15 Social Workers invite you to try out some of the different tools we’ve included in our Virtual Calming Room.  Ask someone in your family to try them with you.  Notice how your body feels afterwards.  Which tools are your favorites?  Remember, what works for you may not work for someone else.  That’s okay!  The Virtual Calming Room is a place for all students, families (and teachers too) to find the tools that work best for them as they work to manage their BIG feelings and build resiliency.
